The Neurocentre GSMN is the only place in French-speaking Switzerland which brings together all medical skills and techniques for the diagnosis, the dealing with and the treatment of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system of adults, particularly cerebrovascular diseases, degenerative illnesses, such as Parkinson's disease, inflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis, cognitive complaints which affect memory, such as Alzheimer's, brain tumours and tumours of the spinal cord, diseases of the vertebral column and lumbar discopathies, diseases which present with pain, epilepsy, problems sleeping or damage to the peripheral nerves or to the muscles.
On the GSMN locations, this centre brings together leading edge expertise which is coordinated in the following areas: neurology, neurosurgery, neurological rehabilitation, neurological imaging, clinical neurophysiology, ophthalmology, neurological radio-oncology and neuropsychology.
Upon request for information, the patient is directed to the specialists of his or her choice who are the best able to provide care for his or her neurological problem. "Neurological check-ups" can also be carried out during short hospital stays.
